Hi How have you been there?
As I visited India last week, I would like to talk about Indian automobile matters.
Once I got out from the International Airport of Delhi, I was amazed that there are lots of Suzuki cars on the road. I have ever seen that Toyota shared the market in many countries before.
But Suzuki holds the foremost place in this country. I found out an emblem on the rear gate is put 'Maruti Suzuki' on the one of cars in the street, and heard from driver that it was the joint company that Indian government and Suzuki launched in 1981 and became a private comapny after selling all the shares by Indian government in 2006.
Now they gained approximately half of Indian market share.
Secondly amazed that there are lots of small cars on the road. Less than 1,500cc engine small cars would be accounted for more than half of total registered car.
Checking the car sales data, the top 3 car sales ranking last year is as follows.
1. Maruti Suzuki Alto 660cc
3. Tata Indica 1,200cc
Low-cost small car around 1,000cc engine which is called A segment is still the most popular in Indian market.
But I guess the trend has been changing these days as I often came across Suzuki Swift, Ford Fiesta and Hyundai Getz in a downtown area in Delhi.
From 1,300 to 1,500cc engine cars belonging to the B segment is increasing demand for new sub-compact car.
24 cars are going to be launched into Indian market as a new model of vehicle this year.
You would be able to view a variety of compact cars when you visit India in the near future.
If you are looking for compact cars, why don't you pay attention to Suzuki cars which shared Indian market?
